SOUND LIKE YOU?

Parenting brings out parts of you you didn’t even know were there. You swore you’d do it differently—not yell, not people-please, not spiral into guilt. But in the chaos of everyday life, you react in ways that don’t feel like “you.”

YOU’RE CARRYING A LOT.

You want to show up grounded, but instead you lose your cool, shut down, or over-correct. You love your child deeply, but under the surface you may feel anxious, guilty, ashamed, or like you’re failing.

You’re not a bad parent. You’re a human with a nervous system, habits, and triggers—trying to do one of the hardest jobs in the world.

If this resonates with you…

You don’t have to be perfect.

You don’t have to parent alone in the mess.

DBT parent coaching can help you pause, reset, and respond in ways that feel more like you.

Parenting Is Harder Than Anyone Tells You

Parenthood is full of invisible labor, constant demands, and emotional triggers—often while carrying the weight of your own upbringing. Struggling with reactivity, shame, or burnout doesn’t mean you’re a bad parent. It means you’re human.

06

Burnout:

Managing isolation, exhaustion, or the invisible load of caregiving.

02

Reactivity:

Losing it—or freezing up—when things escalate.

01

Big Emotions:

A strong-willed child whose meltdowns feel unmanageable.

04

Perfectionism:

Constantly second-guessing whether you’re “doing it right.”

03

Cycle Breaking:

Trying to unlearn the patterns you grew up with.

DBT parent coaching helps you slow down, build tools for hard moments, and parent in alignment with your values—without needing to be perfect.

It’s not just in your head.

The stress of parenting doesn’t just live in your thoughts—it shows up in your body, your nervous system, and your relationships. You might notice emotional dysregulation (yours or your child’s), frequent power struggles, guilt spirals, or struggles setting boundaries.

Florida DBT Parent Coaching gives you space to name what’s happening, understand why, and find steadier ways to move through it.

  • No. DBT parent coaching is not generic advice or sticker charts. It’s emotionally attuned, skills-based coaching rooted in evidence-based DBT and tailored to your family’s real life.

  • Not at all. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about learning how to respond with more intention, repair after hard moments, and parent in alignment with your values.

  • DBT parent coaching is not a substitute for child therapy or crisis-level care. This service is for parents who are emotionally safe and stable enough to engage in coaching—not for families in active crisis, abuse dynamics, or court-mandated situations. If your family needs more intensive support, I’ll help connect you with the right resources.

Therapy is collaborative. Some sessions may focus on food directly; others may explore relationships, identity, or life stress. Everything is welcome here.

My Approach to DBT Parent Coaching for Women in Florida

You don’t have to parent on autopilot.

I’m not the kind of coach who hands you a script or expects you to do it flawlessly. Sessions are focused on real life—what’s actually happening in your home, your body, and your relationships.

Some sessions are practical—breaking down a tough moment from the week, finding the skill to use next time. Others are deeper—exploring why certain triggers hit so hard, or how old wounds resurface in parenting. Together, we adapt DBT skills to your reality.

This isn’t one-size-fits-all. If you need more structure, you’ll get it. If you need more flexibility, we’ll adapt. The work moves with you and for you.

an integrative, relational approach to DBT Parent Coaching:

  • We use DBT tools—emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness—applied directly to parenting. You’ll learn how to stay calm in the storm, model regulation for your child, and build resilience for yourself.

  • This isn’t about judgment. It’s about validation, accountability, and support. Together we’ll troubleshoot challenges, role-play hard conversations, or even involve your partner or co-parent when helpful.

  • Over time, you may notice:

    • Less reactivity and more calm in tough moments

    • Confidence in holding boundaries without guilt

    • Stronger repair after ruptures

    • Greater patience and compassion (for yourself and your kids)

    • A parenting style rooted in values, not fear

    • Relief from shame and permission to be “good enough”
